wow what a night! I
wanted to step on the neck of Mr wind Guru till he lost life. What part of 14-16 knots involves 32-34knots
for hours with rain, when it dropped to 28 it was a relief. Since I was
constantly trimming sails and manually helming I let Randy bank some sleep
until 4:30AM at which point I was dead on my feet. Talked to a couple of boats last night one a
container vessel the Tasking Swan, the
other MV Lady M, her and I were on a collision course. Around 1 this afternoon a pod of about 30 dolphins came
to play in our bow wave and along side, for a brief moment we communicated with
each other on some other level, mammal to mammal. They had wide grins maybe
just maybe because we did to……

1-25
Been trying to sleep but it seems the sea gods have other
ideas, just as I go out the boat slams into a bigger wave. We have been in 5-8ft seas
all day since leaving at 7:30 AM. When
we left the wind was at 72deg and we went ahead and pointed up to 125 to 135
making some easting early, however the west setting current was causing us around 15
to 20 degrees leeway making us slam bow first into the seas. Thankfully at sundown
the moon negated some of the current and we also fell off the wind to 149
making the ride much nicer. As they say
if you think you need to reef then do it, this served me well due to a line of
squalls heading our way. With one reef in the main and the mizzen rolled up
along with some Genoa we saw 32 knots for a while. Raindancer was like a dancer
with to much rum and could not stay on her feet. After things calmed down a bit, more reefing
was in order and she got back on her feet and still is hitting 6.8 knots. .
Sailing under a full moon its almost like daytime, I hope Randy has on his moonscreen.
We are now off St Eustaia .

Cast off the bow line!
Well turns out we were asked to leave the dock at Penns
before we were ready but hey, I
understand they have standards and we just don’t measure up. Anyhow we are out in Fat Hogs on a mooring
and enjoying a nice cool breeze. We did
however get invited out to Carol an Griffs boat “Be as you are II” for
cocktails and snacks, they are as always gracious host and even named a cocktail
after me and the Raindancer which we consumed at least 5 or 6. Randy is an easy
guy to travel with and doesn’t need entertaining but he did ask if I could
dance for him and lets just say I hope we never figure out this video upload
thing.
Well, Cap'n Kevin went topside and left his laptop runnning...and I figured out how to upload the video. Now, I just hope he can't figure out how to remove videos. Randy
Still on the dock
Today we continue prepping the Raindancer for her sail south. Plans are to head direct to Cariacou to make landfall. The weather is fantastic and is looking good to take off tomorrow. Thank goodness we went to bed early last night after a great evening of laughing, eating, drinking dark an stormy's and Capt Ricks excellent bongo playing.......
