Tyrell Bay Carriacou

1-29,30

After a  very roll-ee (meaning to roll back in forth till everything flys off the counters at 1AM) night at anchor we pulled the hook and motored around to Tyrell bay. At least 80 boats were anchored there. We found a spot and dropped in and after two attempts to get set I dove in to snorkel the problem.  The bottom was really hard so I had to go down and set the point in and have Randy back down at 3000 rpm . She dug right in then!  It seems Carriacuo is pretty economically depressed, most shops and bars were closed. We were somewhat disappointed as the guide book says there is one gas station and 100 rum shops, our kind of island.  But perhaps all that rum drinking brought about their ruin. We did stop at the Lambi Queen (Lambi is conch) and start our own party and met new cruising friends Sid an Peggy on board True Blue, they just came up from Grenada.  We also met the beautiful sexy Venus she ran this market, you have to look hard in the scrap metal and bushes but she lives and sells fruit from here.
